When I first started exploring the idea of getting my private pilot’s license, I wasn’t really sure where to begin. By chance, someone put me in touch with Kyle and the rest is history. Unlike bigger flight schools that pump you for hours and money, Kyle gives each student their own unique training that fits their respective profiles. He wants his students to not only succeed in the cockpit, but enjoy their experience as well. Personally, as an aviation industry professional, I’m happy to know that there are flight instructors out there, such as Kyle at Commonwealth, who will go the extra mile to make students’ PPL flight training an enjoyable, safe, and extensive experience.

I was shopping around for different routes to obtain my CFI certifications. Kyle, the owner, reached out and offered to chat and talk me through some options I had in mind, which included his flight school at Manassas. He was patient and listened and understood my goals. I’m moving to NJ soon, so unfortunately won’t be able to do the flight instructor trainings here, but if Kyle was this patient with me without knowing me, really, or asking for money to talk, I can’t imagine the quality of service and professionalism he and his instructors provide for their students.

Commonwealth Aviation is absolutely the right choice when choosing to fly. Hussein is a great instructor who is very hands-on and knowledgeable and will make sure you feel comfortable and confident in the cockpit. Whether you’re just flying for fun or pursuing something down the road I can’t recommend this place enough

Scheduled my son for a discovery flight. Kyle was great! It was easy to schedule and my son was able to get a lot of stick time. The only downside is I think I’m going to have to pay for flying lessons!

This is an excellent aviation school. The instructors are patient and knowledgeable. My son got a certificate for 1 hour of flight and 1hour of flight school. He loved the whole experience. He got to fly a plane! How many people can say that? If your looking for a unique and unforgettable gift , this is definitely the way to go. I highly recommend you giving them a call.

Commonwealth Aviation is one of the best flight schools that I have ever been in my pilot career! Flying in the DC area can be a challenge however, instructors such as Hussein will provide you with the best training to fly in the area. Commonwealth aviation has enabled me to fly unencumbered by complex schedules and at very affordable prices compared to other flying schools. While I just rent from Commonwealth, the two aircraft they have now are perfect for my needs to stay current, familiarize myself with the Virginia area, or just poke holes in the sky. They have excellent instructors, such as Kyle and Tim, and offer certain latitudes and services that others do not. Commonwealth has an easy to use online scheduling system, are very communicative by text and email, and were able to get me logged into their system very quickly. I’m very happy with Commonwealth and will continue to use them.
